Our June 2008 dig on Petersen Mountain was a big success.  Here are some highlights from the trip.  Click on any picture in order to see a larger view.

It takes a little work to get to the Krystal Tips Mining claim at the top of Petersen Mountain.  The picture to the left gives just a little glimpse of a portion of the access road.  You don't even want to think about trying it without a four-wheel drive.  Even then, it can be a little tricky for those who aren't used to the climb.  Can you imagine trying to drive a track hoe up that road?

Well, here's proof that it can be done!  Eric and Krystal plan out some reclamation work (right) while the others continue to dig (below).








































This pocket looks like it might be promising.  Look at the size of that crystal!

After over a week on Petersen Mountain, it's time to bring the crystals home, unwrap them, and see what we've got.  Noel, Foster, and Joe (pictured from left to right) start tearing into the "presents" from the mountain.














Now, that's a lot of crystals.
